Embellished Heirlooms was established as a result of a camping trip during my third trimester. Sleeping on the ground left me with a backache that even the best masseuse couldn't cure. To soothe my sore back, one Sunday night I constructed a heating pad out of scrap material and plain white rice. It not only did the trick to untie the knots in my back, but also got me thinking about the business that has become Embellished Heirlooms.
From that point, the ideas have taken flight. Currently, I'm in the process of building my inventory and portfolio. Shortly I hope to bring my handmade items to the masses through etsy.com. Stay tuned, because I hope to see my inventory grow each day. I'm working on constructing patterns for appliqued baby quilts, aprons, superhero capes, purses, and, of course, the magical, pain relieving, microwavable heating pads that started this whole endeavor.
